weathering rough cut barn siding

The siding has been on for almost 3 years now. It's not been treated and will weather naturally over the years with virtually zero maintenance. I'm guessing it will last around 50+ years? The house is beginning to disappear into it's surroundings. The Corten steel beams that support the raised porch have rusted up pretty evenly and will also be zero maintenance for the life of this structure and beyond.

Those sidings sure are tough, considering you don’t even have to do maintenance on them under such harsh conditions. That's a beautiful home out there, and the snow reminds me of Christmas.

The cold weather can be rude to lumber, but as long as it is well-maintained, it will surely stand the test of time. It's better to spend a small amount of money for regular maintenance than to spend a lot more for an often replacement.
